Krumble started in a kitchen at 3am.
Flour on the counter. Chocolate everywhere. And one woman with a dream that refused to leave her alone.
Her name is Nicky.
But the story actually begins years earlier, thousands of kilometres away.
When Nicky was 24 years old, she travelled to New York City and tasted what she still calls the ultimate cookie. Thick. Gooey. Ridiculously indulgent. The kind of cookie that makes you pause mid-bite and say: "How is this even legal?"
That moment planted a seed.
She came back to Cape Town and never forgot that cookie. But life had other plans before the dream could begin.

Turning
Point
At 33, Nicky was diagnosed with cancer.
Treatment meant months of uncertainty, strength she didn’t know she had, and a complete reset of what mattered in life.
After undergoing immunotherapy, something shifted. Life suddenly felt too short to keep waiting for the “right time”.
So at 34, Nicky made a decision many people only ever talk about making:
She decided to follow the dream that had been quietly sitting in the back of her mind since New York.
She started baking.
From Mom’s Kitchen to Cape Town Cookie Fame
Krumble was born in her mom’s kitchen, where Nicky baked and packed cookies until 3am most nights.
No factory. No big team.
Just a small oven, a lot of determination, and cookies that people couldn’t stop talking about.
She started selling them at Cape Town food markets, where something magical happened. People would try a cookie…
Then come back for another. Then bring their friends. Then post it on Instagram. Then ask where they could buy more.
That’s when Nicky realised something important: These weren’t just cookies.
They were addictive and life changing!
And so the Krumble Cookie monster was born.
From a Dream to a Cookie Movement
On 1 June 2025, that dream became real.
Krumble opened its first cookie store at Table Bay Mall in Cape Town.
The response? Absolutely wild.
Customers travelled across the city just to taste the cookies they had heard about. And once someone tried a Krumble cookie, something strange started happening…
They converted. Into what we like to call a Krumble Cookie Monster.
But the demand didn’t stop there. Markets weren’t enough. One store wasn’t enough. South Africans kept asking for more cookies.
So on 1 August 2025, Krumble opened its first cookie factory in Cape Town, not because Nicky wanted a factory, but because the country wouldn’t stop asking for more cookies.
Today, Krumble produces handcrafted cookies that are:

- Handcrafted with love
